Frequently asked questions about the Airside Safety course

1. Why an Airside Safety course for managers?

Turnaround safety depends on organisation: coordination between companies, prevention plans, clear roles, supervision and lessons learned. This course gives managers the tools to organise a safe turnaround and meet their obligations.

2. Who is this course for?

Turnaround managers, supervisors and coordinators, operations, QHSE and SMS managers, and managers of ground handling companies, airlines, aerodrome operators and their contractors.

3. How long does the course take?

About 7 hours. It includes 6 videos, 12 PDF sheets including a risk assessment grid, 6 modules with practice quizzes and a final exam. You take it at your own pace.

4. What is the course based on?

Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/20 on ground handling, Regulation (EU) 139/2014 on aerodromes, Regulation (EU) 376/2014 on occurrence reporting, the ACI Airside Safety Handbook, INRS guidance and IATA AHM 1110. Labour law references come from the French Labour Code; outside France, local legislation applies, but the logic (coordination between employers, joint risk assessment, written prevention measures) remains valid.

5. What score do I need to get the certificate?

You need at least 80% correct answers in the 20-question final exam (16 correct answers). You have two attempts.

6. How much does the course cost?

The course costs €85 (VAT included). The price includes access to the content, videos, PDF sheets and assessment grid, quizzes, final exam and digital certificate. To train several managers, request a corporate quote.

7. What does Regulation (EU) 2025/20 change?

It creates a European framework for ground handling service providers: declaration to the authority, safety management system, initial and recurrent training programme (ORGH.TRG.100) and occurrence reporting. It applies from 27 March 2028; this course helps you prepare.

8. Is this training mandatory?

Employers must train their staff in safety and coordinate prevention with contractors. Regulation (EU) 2025/20 will also require initial and recurrent training for all ground handling personnel, including managers.

9. Can I take the course on a mobile or tablet?

Yes, the course works on computers, tablets and smartphones. You pick up where you left off.

10. How long is the certificate valid?

3-year validity: maximum recurrent training interval of 36 months set by Regulation (EU) 2025/20 (ORGH.TRG.100), applicable from 27 March 2028, and already recommended by IATA AHM 1110. Your employer's or the airline's requirements may be stricter. Recurrent training should be planned before it expires.
